"...Knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness."
--Helen Keller
In 1925, Helen Keller challenged the Lions Club to join that crusade and champion the cause of vision health. The Lions responded with gusto. Today, millions of people around the world have eyeglasses, have their sight, and have received vision care through the charitable efforts of the Lions Club.
At Dr. Sam's Eye Care, we donate our time to the Lions' effort of pediatric vision care in our communities, offering free eye exams in elementary schools.
Donated eyeglasses, reading glasses and sunglasses are sent around the world, giving the disadvantaged the gift of eyesight--which can literally change lives. And it costs the Lions Club only about 8 cents to get a pair of glasses to someone whose life can be dramatically improved with your old glasses. Also, while the Lions take all kinds of glasses, children's glasses are always in short supply.
